Little River Band - Greatest Hits

This is a 1982 compilation CD, Little River Band - Greatest Hits.

Tracks are from LRB's period of 1975 to 1982.

This was a Capital release from EMI Records.

Little River Band were an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 1975 and named after a road sign for the Victorian township of Little River, on the way to Geelong.

They were the first Australian rock group to enjoy sustained commercial success in the United States. During their career the band have sold more than 25 million records and scored 13 American Top 40 hits.

The band's original members were lead singer Glenn Shorrock, guitarists/vocalists Graeham Goble and Beeb Birtles, lead guitarist Ric Formosa, bassist Roger McLachlan and drummer Derek Pellicci.

In May 2001 the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA), as part of its 75th Anniversary celebrations, named "Cool Change", written by Shorrock, as one of the Top 30 Australian songs of all time.

The 'classic line-up' of Birtles, Goble, Pellicci, Shorrock, guitarist David Briggs and bass guitarist George McArdle, were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame at the 18th Annual ARIA Music Awards of 2004. (**source Wikipedia)

In my humble opinion this was the prime days of LRB. I used to see them live every other week and can still remember the tight harmonies of those many shows. I don't think I ever saw them on a bad night.

Tracks on this album are :-

It's A Long Way There
Help Is On Its Way
Reminiscing
Man On Your Mind
The Other Guy
The Night Owls
Lonesome Loser
Take It Easy On Me
Down On The Border
Happy Anniversary
Lady
Cool Change
